Christmas Eve

Yea yea, okay its x'mas eve, so what? I'm working PM today and its kind of depressing.
At least Sister is kind enough to let me have a day off on New Year's Eve.
I pity the Doctor on-call. He was hoping the nurses would throw a countdown to Christmas party.
Sorry doc, we don't, um, count down to Christmas.

So what the hell did I do today?
At least I have a life after work.
9 patients today, not so bad. I was hoping it would stay that way till my night is over.
Any hoots, I met up with my beloved Ernest as usual.
We had the extremely cholesterol building food -- prata. Delicious yet unhealthy. What a price to pay.
And after which it was just the usual cabbing home.

I watched V for Vendetta again, for like the umpteenth time.
Photobucket
I can practically memorise 89% of the show -- verbatim, mind you.

Everything that comes out of V's mouth is so Shakespeare.
For example, the scene in his house where Evy asked if he stole butter from that tyrant Adam Sutler, his reply was, "I dare do all that may becomes a man, who dares more is none."
That particular line was from Macbeth.
And then there's my favourite line of all, "If you are looking for the guilty, you need only to look into a mirror."
Classic.

If only everyone can speak with such eloquence instead of mediocre English.
Apparently most Singaporeans' command of English is bad enough that our councils have to crack their brains, and come up with a Speak Good English program.
I have to be honest, we are only known for math and science, not language.
I am of course, proud that Singlish is being considered unique -- in a way.
But not the excessive use of it. It gets on my nerves to hear people converse with limited lexicon.
Is nice the only word you can come up with?

"Oh, the food at XXX cafe is so nice."
"The movie is nice."
"The drink is nice."
"Nice song."

Last I checked, there are more than 10 words you can substitute nice with.
If you need help, here's what the thesaurus can offer (just so you dimwits know, thesaurus is not a dictionary):
admirable, approved, attractive, considerable, delightful, fair, favourable, fine and dandy, inviting, lovely, peachy, pleasant, seemly, et cetera.
Ain't that enough?

So the next time you want to comment on something, try this instead:
"That movie was spectacular."
"This drink is fine and dandy."
"Lovely song!"
The world would be a better place. Trust.

Imagine how everything would sound if everyone can talk like the Brits most of the time. I'd want to wake up to take the train for nothing.
Of course, Singlish is inevitable.
I confess that I blurt out in Singlish sometimes. Like I said, inevitable.
Instead of saying, "so what do you think we should go about doing this?", I say, "so how?"
Saves time. As long as the message is sent across, I guess that's fine.
Inevitable.

Well, it seems like its time to end my post.
Till then

The sudden urge

Weird how things turn out to be lately.
I am actually liking Gossip Girl. Shows like these don't really appeal to me.
I would prefer something like Desperate Housewives, where everything just seem unexpected and how each and every character's past will start haunting them season by season.
So unexpected.

Anyways, I'm just getting started. Kinda new to this writing online stuff. Never an aficionado of technology. Have always been kind of a technophobe.

I would say, life has been mundane for me lately. I mean, life as a staff nurse to be ain't the most exciting thing that can happen to one's life.
Occasionally, I'd hang out with friends, and say, catch a movie?

Speaking of which, my aunt gave me a twilight gala premier movie ticket. I've been dying to watch that movie and since its a gala premier, why the hell not?
I would be really honest here, the book's wayyyy better.
The character they choose for the Cullens are just... one word... disappointing.

I'd start with... um.... Alice Cullen.
The book describes her as, tiny. Turns out, they choose someone taller. Much taller.
If you ask me, I'd say, hey, why not choose Ellen Page? She's totally cut out for it.
Photobucket
Plus, the Cullens are suppose to possess superhuman beauty.
And since it's nearly impossible to find someone of that caliber, Ellen Page would be a better alternative to Ashley Greene. What's more, Ellen Page is 5 feet 1 and Alice Cullen is about 4 feet 10. Close enough. Just that Ellen has to cut her hair to spiky short.

So let's see who's next... Jasper Hale.
Honestly.
I think Penn Badgley will do a much better job. At least he looks charismatic.
Photobucket

Next on the list that I have a problem with is Emmett Cullen.
No, no.
Let's Henry Cavil do the job.
Described as tall, muscular, dark curly hair and dimpled cheek.
Photobucket
Henry Cavil fits almost all of the above. Period.

Now now, Jasper Hale -- checked. Alice Cullen -- checked. Emmett Cullen -- checked. Who's next?
Ahh... Rosalie Hale. That blondie they choose don't work out. Rosalie is described as being the most beautiful person on earth and is extremely vain. Now, this is tough.
I have a couple of actresses in my head.
1) Blake Lively
Photobucket

Hmmm... then again...

2) Megan Fox
Photobucket

Those eyes... those lips... that face...
Just dye that hair blonde and you'd be perfect for the role.
She's way to hoooottttt for my screen.
Woo. Just hold on a sec till my screen clears up. Wait, let me get that cloth.

3) Natalie Portman
Photobucket

Look at that. Enuff said.

And last but not least, Edward Cullen and Bella Swan.
Robert Pattinson is... okay.
Photobucket

But you were to ask me to choose. I'd deffo say Cloud from FFVII (too bad he's not real).
Photobucket
He's just... flawless.

As for Kristen Stewart. She's the only one I don't have any problem with.
I mean, look at her.
Photobucket

Sometimes I think she's too perfect to play Bella Swan because Bella is described as an average girl. But on and all, two thumbs up.

There you have it. The new casts of Twilight.
The book's way better. Go read it.

Love's story is so not me. But because it's about vampires, I wouldn't mind at all. They are the most seductive mystical creatures.
I think it's their fetish for necks and bloods that makes them exclusive (think hairy werewolves that shape shifts between man and wolves. How appealing can that be? And then there's those tiny fairies with annoying butterfly-liked wings at the back fluttering non-stop... urgh).

Vamps, you're welcome at my neck anytime.

Till then.
